When Is an Extraction Necessary?

Post-Extraction Care
First 24 Hours
- Bite on gauze to control bleeding
- Apply ice packs to reduce swelling
- Stick to soft, cool foods
- Avoid rinsing or spitting forcefully
Ongoing Care
- Continue gentle brushing, avoiding the extraction site
- Rinse gently with salt water after 24 hours
- Give pain medication as directed
- Watch for signs of infection
