Tooth Extractions

Gentle, Compassionate Tooth Removal

When a tooth extraction is necessary, we perform it with the utmost care and gentleness, ensuring your child's comfort throughout the process.

When Is an Extraction Necessary?

While we always try to save teeth whenever possible, sometimes extraction is the best option for your child's oral health.

Severe Tooth Decay

When a cavity is too large to repair with a filling or crown, removing the tooth may be necessary to prevent infection and protect surrounding teeth.

Dental Infection or Abscess

If an infection has spread deep into the tooth or surrounding bone, extraction may be needed to eliminate the source of infection and protect your child's health.

Orthodontic Treatment

Sometimes teeth need to be removed to create space for orthodontic treatment, allowing the remaining teeth to align properly.

Extra or Impacted Teeth

Extra teeth (supernumerary teeth) or teeth that can't erupt properly may need to be removed to prevent crowding and other dental problems.

Baby Teeth That Won't Loosen

Sometimes primary teeth don't fall out on their own when permanent teeth are ready to come in, and gentle extraction helps the new tooth erupt properly.

The Extraction Process

1

Anesthesia

We numb the area thoroughly so your child feels no pain during the procedure. For anxious children, sedation options are available.

2

Gentle Removal

Using specialized instruments, we carefully and gently remove the tooth with minimal pressure and discomfort.

3

Aftercare

We provide detailed instructions for home care and pain management to ensure quick, comfortable healing.

Post-Extraction Care

First 24 Hours

  • Bite on gauze to control bleeding
  • Apply ice packs to reduce swelling
  • Stick to soft, cool foods
  • Avoid rinsing or spitting forcefully

Ongoing Care

  • Continue gentle brushing, avoiding the extraction site
  • Rinse gently with salt water after 24 hours
  • Give pain medication as directed
  • Watch for signs of infection
