Preventive Care
Building Healthy Smiles for Life
Preventive dental care is the foundation of good oral health. Regular checkups help us catch problems early and teach your child healthy habits that last a lifetime.

What's Included in Preventive Care
Comprehensive Dental Exams
Dr. Dokova carefully examines your child's teeth, gums, and oral tissues to detect any signs of decay, gum disease, or developmental issues. We use age-appropriate techniques to make the exam comfortable and stress-free.
Professional Cleanings
Our gentle cleanings remove plaque and tartar buildup that brushing alone can't reach. We polish teeth to remove surface stains and leave your child's smile sparkling clean.
Oral Health Education
We teach children proper brushing and flossing techniques and explain why oral health matters. Parents receive guidance on nutrition, thumb-sucking, and other habits that affect dental health.
Digital X-rays (when needed)
Low-radiation digital x-rays help us see what's happening beneath the surface, detecting cavities between teeth and monitoring tooth development. We only take x-rays when clinically necessary.
When Should My Child Visit?
First Visit
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children have their first dental visit by age one or within six months of their first tooth erupting.
Regular Checkups
Most children should visit the dentist every six months for routine checkups and cleanings. Some children with higher cavity risk may benefit from more frequent visits.
Building Positive Experiences
Early and regular visits help children become comfortable with dental care, reducing anxiety and building trust. This sets the foundation for a lifetime of good oral health.
